HARRISBURG – Sen. Elder Vogel Jr. (R-47) announced today the approval of a $5.5 million state grant for Industry Borough Municipal Authority to complete its water treatment plant improvement project in Beaver County.
“This investment in Beaver County will enhance drinking water quality and prevent user fee increases for Industry Borough residents,” Vogel said.
The project includes updates to the water treatment process with a new raw water oxidation tank, a 6,000-gallon distribution pumping tank, an emergency generator, and cleaning two groundwater wells.
The funding was awarded by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).
PENNVEST is a financing authority that provides low-cost financial assistance to address water, wastewater, stormwater and non-point source pollution problems that impact public health, safety, the environment, regulatory compliance and economic development.
