HARRISBURG – Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-39) today appointed Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47) to several standing Senate committees for the 2022-23 Legislative Session.
He will again serve as chairman of the Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee – a post he has held since 2011 – and be vice chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Vogel will also serve as a member of three other standing Senate committees, all of which he served on during the 2021-22 session: the Banking and Insurance, Environmental Resources and Energy, and Transportation committees.
“My committee assignments cover a wide range of issues that have a direct impact on the lives of the people of western Pennsylvania,” said Vogel. “Agriculture, energy and transportation are major components of the economies of the communities of the 47th Senatorial District and the daily lives of the district’s residents. Additionally, again being a member of the Appropriations Committee will allow me to ensure western Pennsylvania concerns will be reflected in our state spending decisions.”
