Keystone Communities Program Grants Awarded to Beaver, Lawrence Communities

HARRISBURG – State Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47) announced four communities in Beaver and Lawrence counties will benefit from grants awarded through the Keystone Communities Program.

The Keystone Communities Program supports towns and cities with initiatives that work to create growth and stability while encouraging partnerships between the public and private sectors, all with the goal of building stronger communities, attracting new residents and businesses, and boosting the local economies.

The four projects in the 47th Senatorial District receiving grants are:

  • Aliquippa Economic Development Corporation (Beaver County), which received $100,000 for the Clean and Safe Franklin Avenue project that will focus on streetscape improvements.
  • Beaver Falls Community Development Corporation (Beaver County), which received $43,500 for the renovation of a home through the Jubilee Housing Project.
  • Monaca Community Development Corporation (Beaver County), which received $45,000 for the Façade Grant Program that is focused on improving existing façades in downtown Monaca.
  • Lawrence County, which received $50,000 for the Ellwood City Façade Improvement Program that is focused on improving existing façades in downtown Ellwood City.

“This funding will help with ongoing efforts to revitalize the downtowns of our communities by improving the overall downtown physical appearance, which will attract more visitors, as well as increasing available homes, which will help put more of our residents on the path to wealth creation through home ownership,” said Vogel.
