Vogel Earns Conservation “Legislative Leadership” Award

Senator Elder Vogel’s efforts to protect Pennsylvania’s farmland and open spaces earned him recognition from a statewide organization.

Senator Vogel and Senator Judy Schwank of Berks County were recently named to share the 2015 Legislative Leadership Award, presented by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts. Senators Vogel and Schwank serve as the Majority and Minority chairs respectively of the Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.

The award is presented in recognition of those whose efforts have helped further the activities and accomplishments of Pennsylvania and its 66 conservation districts.

“We are continuing our ongoing efforts to protect and preserve Pennsylvania’s farmland and open spaces,” said Senator Vogel. “Through dedicated funding such as the money from Act 13 and efforts like Growing Greener and our farmland preservation program, we are cleaning up the problems of the past and ensuring that future generations will be able to enjoy the benefits of a healthy environment and productive agricultural areas.
