New Castle, Hopewell Area SD receive library grants

The New Castle Public Library and Hopewell Area School District were among only 34 public, school and academic libraries statewide selected to receive state grants to enhance services and improve access to materials to local communities, according to Senator Elder Vogel.

The New Castle Public Library received a $16,806 Library Services and Technology Act grant and Hopewell Area School District was awarded $5,000.

Funding for the competitive program is provided through the federal Library Services and Technology Act, which is overseen by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Office of Commonwealth Libraries.
