All Pennsylvania public, non-public and private high school students are encouraged to participate in the “In Lincoln’s Footsteps” speech contest marking the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address on November 19, according to Senator Elder Vogel.
The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship, professional speech presentation training and an all-expense paid trip to Gettysburg for Dedication Day 2013 to deliver the winning speech at the official Dedication Day ceremony. The winner’s school will receive a collection of Gettysburg/Lincoln-related books and a banner recognizing the education entity and its winner.
