State Senator Elder Vogel released the following statement today regarding the conditional approval by the Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission for the Lawrence County Harness Racing Track Project to move forward under new management:
“Without a doubt, I am pleased that we appear to be making progress in finally making this project a reality. The job creation that this facility will provide for the areas I represent are enormous and the spin-off economic activity will help make our area a more attractive place to live, work, and visit,” Vogel said.
“While the Endeca Entertainment partnership must still meet certain conditions as placed on it by the Harness Racing Commission*, I am confident we are heading in the right direction,” according to Vogel. “I and many other local officials have worked so hard and advocated for many years to bring this project to fruition, and this is certainly a step in the right direction for job creation in our community.”
*The Harness Racing Commission granted conditional approval for American Harness Tracks (AHT) to transfer stock ownership of the project to Endeca Entertainment under the following conditions:
Within 30 days Endeca must obtain and file proof of financial commitment;
Within 30 days Endeca must provide management agreement;
Within 30 days Endeca must submit an application to be licensed by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board; and
Within 60 days submit a complete update on zoning, and permitting of the project.
