Senator Vogel to Collect Items for Area Food Banks, Toys for Tots

Gifts to be donated to area families

State Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. announced that he will be collecting non-perishable food for area food banks at his Rochester District Office. In addition to non –perishable food items, Senator Vogel’s office will also be collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program. All of the food will be distributed to area food banks and the toys to area children. Everyone making a donation will be entered into a chance to win a wine basket and a dinner-for-two gift certificate that was graciously donated by the Wooden Angel restaurant. The deadline for the “Toys for Tots” program is December 9, and non-perishable food items can be dropped off through December 16. In addition, Senator Vogel has been working with PennAg Industries Association to supply a monetary donation to local food banks to purchase food for families in need.

“It’s important that we all do our part to remember those less fortunate during this Christmas Season. I hope many people join in helping to make this an enjoyable time for families in our area,” Vogel said. “I am very thankful to the people at PennAg, the Wooden Angel, and the Marine Corps Reserves for everything they have done to help,” Vogel added.

If you would like to participate, please drop off any new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable foods at the Senator’s office at 488 Adams Street in Rochester. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. For more information, please call 724-774-0444 or visit senatoreldervogel.com.
