Senator Vogel Requests Governor Corbett’s Assistance to Keep Horsehead Corp. in Beaver County

Senator Vogel today sent a letter to Governor Corbett requesting assistance with Horsehead Corporation’s request for upgrade assistance to their zinc recycling facility.

“I have asked for Governor Corbett’s office to offer any and all assistance necessary to make this project happen here in Beaver County. Horsehead has had discussions with other states about locating their new facility elsewhere. We have already seen too many companies pack up and leave,” Vogel said.

Horsehead Corporation currently maintains a significant workforce at their plant in Potter Township. The proposed expansion would be a state-of-art upgrade to their zinc recycling operations in order to meet environmental requirements. The improvements would be a technological and environmental enhancement over current capabilities and provide for job retention and expansion.

“This project will keep and produce hundreds of jobs in our area. We must work together to keep these good paying jobs in Beaver County,” Vogel added.
