Senator Vogel Announces Grant to the Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development

Matching Funds to be Used Towards the Expansion of the Hopewell Business and Industrial Park

Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. announced today that the Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development will receive a $250,000 state grant to be used towards infrastructure and site development efforts at the Hopewell Business and Industrial Park in Hopewell Township.

“Economic development has to be the biggest priority for Beaver County. With the recession still taking its toll, we have to intensify our efforts to attract businesses and family sustaining jobs into our area,” Vogel said. “This project will provide the infrastructure necessary to encourage even more investment at the Hopewell Business and Industrial Park.”

This funding will be used for a six acre expansion of the Hopewell Business and Industrial Park. Once the work is completed, the site can accommodate 50,000 – 75,000 square feet of new construction that will add more jobs to the 1,500 employees already working at the Park.

“I am pleased to partner with the Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development to provide matching funds for this project. This shows what can happen when the private and public sectors work together,” Vogel added.
