Senator Vogel Announces Grant to Ellwood City Revitalization

Funds to be used towards revitalization of the downtown

Senator Elder Vogel Jr. announced today that The Ellwood City Revitalization Project (ECR) will receive a $250,000 state grant to be used towards engineering and construction redevelopment efforts along Lawrence Avenue in Ellwood City.

“What’s great about the Ellwood City Revitalization Project is the public-private partnership that has been forged through the tireless fundraising efforts of the Ellwood City Revitalization Board,” Vogel said. “I am pleased to partner with the Ellwood City community, including the Chamber, local businesses, and local officials on such an important effort to improve the Ellwood City downtown and attract new development.”

According to Vogel, the $250,000 grant will provide a much needed financial boost to get the project moving forward.

“We sincerely appreciate Senator Vogel’s efforts on our behalf,” said ECR President Lenore Bazzichi. “Since his election, the Senator has worked hard for us, writing letters and personally advocating on our behalf in Harrisburg. His strong dedication to the Ellwood City Revitalization Project and the Ellwood City community are to be applauded, and we can’t thank him enough.”
