Rochester Borough Receives $2.295 Million State Grant

The Rochester Borough Sewer and Maintenance Authority will receive $2,295,000 in state funding to upgrade its sewer system, according to Senator Elder Vogel Jr., (R-47).

The authority will use the grant approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) today (July 21) to install 4,500 feet of sanitary sewer lines and rehabilitate another 200 feet of sewer lines.

Currently, Rochester Borough has a combined sewer system that overflows during wet weather events into Lacock Run.

“This is great news for the community,” said Senator Vogel. “This PENNVEST grant shows the state’s interest in protecting the environment and improving the quality of life in Rochester.”
