Vogel Backs Plan Reforming, Investing in Multimodal Transportation System

Senator Elder Vogel (R-47) offered his support for an omnibus plan that would provide reforms and investments for Pennsylvania’s multimodal transportation system.

The DRIVE SMART Act, Delivering Reforms and Investments for Vehicle Efficiency and Supporting Motor carriers, Airports, Rails and trails and Transit agencies was unveiled today (June 2) by Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35), chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, at a press conference at the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport.

“This comprehensive plan provides Pennsylvania with a coherent, common-sense roadmap for funding and implementing essential transportation projects,” said Senator Vogel, who serves as a member of the Senate Transportation Committee. “This will provide much needed transparency to the process and allow for public comment.”

Additional information about the comprehensive and multi-faceted plan is available at www.SenatorLangerholc.com/drive-smart-act/.

The Transportation Committee will hold several hearings over the coming months to collect feedback on the DRIVE SMART Act and other ideas to reform and invest in the Commonwealth’s multimodal transportation system. The public is encouraged to provide feedback on the DRIVE SMART Act online at www.SenatorLangerholc.com/drive-smart-act/.
