Committee Approves Ag Conservation Measure

The Senate Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee today (June 7) approved a measure to support agricultural conservation projects, according to Committee Chairman Senator Elder Vogel.

Senate Bill 465, introduced by Senator Gene Yaw (R-23), would establish an Agricultural Conservation Assistance Program to provide for local conservation districts throughout the Commonwealth to directly receive and manage funding for agricultural conservation projects determined by local officials to significantly improve local water quality.

The bill now moves to the full Senate for consideration.
