Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. is reminding area residents that the deadline to submit their pictures for the 2016 “Scenes from the 47th Senatorial District” calendar contest is September 1. Voting will take place from September 2, 2015 to September 30, 2015. Winners will be announced in October.
Contestants can submit two photos per category of their favorite shots. The categories are: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The contest is open to all individuals, both children and adults, but photos must have been taken within the boundaries of the 47th District.
“From rolling farms to bustling main streets, the picturesque vistas throughout the many boroughs and townships that make up my senate district are a photographer’s dream,” Senator Vogel said. “It’s that little old church you drive by each day or an eagle nesting above the river, the annual parade or a school sporting event. I want you to share the local sights and scenes that you capture with your 47th Senate District neighbors.”
Winning photos will be featured in the 2016 “Scenes from the 47th Senatorial District Calendar.” The top three vote-getters in each category will serve as a featured month in the calendar. No taxpayer money will be used for the publication of the calendar and the calendars will be available to residents free of charge.
