Rochester Area Fire Rescue receives state grant

The newly created Rochester Area Fire-Rescue received a $3,000 state grant to pay for costs associated with the merger, according to Senator Elder Vogel. The grant is among 11 projects awarded $481,635 through the Municipal Assistance Program (MAP) by the state Department of Economic and Community Development.

“I applaud Rochester Area Fire-Rescue not only for receiving this grant, but for recognizing the benefits that come with merging,” Senator Vogel said.  “This process can be challenging and I wish the new department continued success.”

MAP funding supports multi-municipal, regional, and county planning and implementation efforts. Support is available for three groups of activities: shared services, community planning, and floodplain management.
